 Plot: Following the Dutton family’s arrival, Elsa’s spirit (May) narrates as James (McGraw) and Margaret (Hill) fight ruthless land barons, harsh winters, and broken treaties to secure Paradise Valley.

With Shea (Elliott) mentoring young cowboys and new threats from railroad tycoons, the prequel expands into brutal homestead wars and alliances with indigenous tribes.
