🚨 Four Adults Killed in Lawrenceville Shooting; Three Children Found Hiding in Closet

Authorities in Lawrenceville say a late-night domestic dispute turned deadly when four family members were fatally shot inside a home in the Atlanta metro area.
Investigators allege that around 2:30 a.m. on January 23, Vijay Kumar, 51, opened fire during an argument, killing his wife, Meenu Dogra, 43, along with relatives Gourav Cumar, 33, Nidhi Chander, 37, and Harish Chander, 38. Officers responding to the scene found the four adults suffering from gunshot wounds.
Three children β€” ages 7, 10, and 12 β€” survived the ordeal. Police say the 12-year-old called 911 while hiding in a closet with his younger cousins. Responding officers later located the children physically unharmed but deeply shaken after remaining concealed for hours amid the chaos.
Kumar was taken into custody nearby, according to law enforcement. Authorities have not released additional details about a possible motive beyond confirming the incident stemmed from a domestic conflict. The investigation remains ongoing.
Community members described the event as heartbreaking and difficult to comprehend, particularly given the presence of young children in the home. Counselors and victim-support services have been made available to assist those affected.
Officials emphasized that domestic disputes can escalate rapidly and urged anyone experiencing family violence to seek help through local resources or crisis hotlines.
