Angels, we are asking for extra prayers today — the kind that wrap around a child and refuse to let go. Our sweet Evelyn is facing a battle far heavier than we ever imagined, and our hearts are aching as we prepare for what lies ahead ✨🤍.
After meeting with her surgical team and reviewing the latest scans, the news was devastating. What doctors first believed was a single spot on Evelyn’s right kidney is now three separate areas, all of which must be carefully marked, removed, and tested. On her left kidney, the situation is even more complex. Surgeons still don’t know whether part of it can be saved, or if it will need to be fully removed. The uncertainty is terrifying 💔.
Because of how intricate and delicate her case is, three additional surgeons will be present in the operating room. The procedure is expected to last more than seven hours, far longer than a typical Wilms tumor surgery. And even after that, the road may continue with radiation and possibly stronger chemotherapy 🎗️😢. Hearing those words felt like the ground disappeared beneath our feet.
It was overwhelming. It was frightening. It was the kind of moment no parent is ever prepared for.
And yet — we choose to trust.
We trust the skilled hands that will hold Evelyn.
We trust the wisdom, experience, and compassion inside that operating room.
We trust that even in the unknown, she is not alone 🙏🤍.
There are many possible outcomes, and we are doing our best to prepare our hearts for each one. We are holding tightly to faith when fear tries to take over. To hope when the answers aren’t clear. And to love — the kind of love that carries us through even the longest, darkest nights.
