⚖️ New Mexico Launches Full Investigation Into Epstein’s Zorro Ranch

Lawmakers in New Mexico have unanimously approved legislation to begin what they describe as the first comprehensive investigation into activities at Zorro Ranch, the sprawling estate owned by convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. 🏛️

The probe aims to uncover the full scope of alleged trafficking and abuse that reportedly took place at the property near Santa Fe, marking a significant step toward accountability and transparency.

🏛️ Bipartisan Truth Commission to Examine Allegations

Under the newly passed legislation, a bipartisan “truth commission” will collect testimony from survivors and local residents regarding alleged misconduct at the 7,600-acre ranch.

The four-member panel will also seek to identify guests, associates, and state officials who may have known about — or participated in — unlawful activities at Zorro Ranch. Lawmakers emphasized that the investigation could lay the groundwork for future criminal prosecutions.

The bill passed unanimously in the New Mexico House of Representatives and authorizes a $2.5 million investigation with subpoena power, giving the commission authority to compel testimony and documents. 📂

Interim findings are expected in July, with a final report due by the end of the year.

📂 Renewed Scrutiny After Federal File Release

The investigation comes amid heightened attention following the U.S. Justice Department’s release of millions of Epstein-related documents, which revealed links between Epstein and two former Democratic governors and a former state attorney general in New Mexico.

Epstein died in 2019 in a New York jail while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges.

State Rep. Andrea Romero, a Democrat and co-sponsor of the legislation, stated:

“He was basically doing anything he wanted in this state without any accountability whatsoever.”

🔎 What the Investigation Means

Supporters say the commission represents a long-overdue effort to provide survivors with a platform to share their experiences while strengthening legal accountability.

With subpoena authority and bipartisan backing, the New Mexico investigation could become a landmark case in examining institutional failures and potential complicity tied to the Epstein network.
